Good morning everyone!
Winds are lighter today than they’ve been for a couple days, and that’s not a bad thing if you’re sore and tired from kiting and windsurfing. If you want more time on the water, wait until late today. As a weak front approaches the coast, winds jump up a notch. Your earliest chance for 17-21 will be at Stevenson, but winds quickly fill in all the way out to Arlington.
Tonight’s frontal passage sends cool air and marine clouds into Portland, setting up a decent day of wind in the Gorge tomorrow. We’ll start off with 21-24 east of the cloudline, probably out at Doug’s. By afternoon, winds climb into the 25-29 range from Doug’s to Arlington. With high pressure at the coast, upper flow is westerly, meaning The Wall should be good tomorrow.
Thursday’s looking windy as well. With less marine push, we’ll see 17-21 in the corridor on Thursday.
Mountain bikers, there’s one more trail open for your dirty fun. Lewis River is clear for at least 12 miles from the lower parking area. There are a couple of reroutes on the trail, but other than that, it’s good to go!
The best evening fun today is for women only. It’s the Big Winds women’s supper club. That’s free stand-up demos at the event site. Give Big Winds a call for details… they’ve had 30-50 women each week, so they’re changing up the times to accommodate everyone!
Whatever you do today, have an awesome day!
