4.30 (posted 4.29 evening)

The one thing we’re missing today is wind, but the wind scene is going to change tomorrow. Windsurfers and kiteboarders you'll get your chance. An upper level low circulates over western Oregon and Washington and high pressure homes in on the Rockies. Surface flow switches to offshore, setting up strong easterlies in the Gorge. We’ll see 28-32 plus in Stevenson and Rooster Rock. With high temps in the upper 60s and the river temp around 50, you have no excuse to not pull out your 3.2 windsurfing sail or your smallest kite.

At this point, Saturday’s forecast is looking like very light wind, and Sunday’s looks like a frontally driven windy gusty unpredictable. I see sad windsurfers and kiteboarders in the picture.

So... given the light wind, Saturday is your day for road biking. The Disco Saturday morning ride has officially split into two groups. 8am for the hammerheads and 830am for the semi-hammerheads. Also on Saturday is the completely and totally free Ride Around the Gorge. Meet at the China Gorge park-n-ride at 830 in the morning for a fun and mellow group ride.

But now.. back to the present. Today is Thursday, and that means it’s Post and Pint day.  That's right. Mountain biking for beer lovers! The Post half of this event is on hold, pending mud evaluation. The pint half will be happening at Dirty Fingers. As of yesterday, Post Canyon was slicker than chain lube on an ice rink. Even Jake fell down while riding his bike! The Pint half of the ride takes place no matter what. Give Dirty Fingers a call for the yes/no confirmation. Either way, the fun stars at 530.

Whatever you do today, have an awesome time!
