I’ll start off with ski news today. Meadows and Skibowl are operating only Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Timberline is open 7 days, and they’re running Palmer, so you can take the lift all the way to 8,450 feet. At the top, you choose: go up or go down… doesn’t much matter! It’s gorgeous above timberline, you know, so my friend Axl ( http://www.twentytwodesigns.com/axl/ ) and I like to go up. For what it’s worth, the snow at Meadows was all corned up yesterday, so the skiing is good if you’re heading out for some turns!
Windsurfers and kiters, today looks like a quiet day on the river, despite a weak shortwave passing overhead. We’ll see a little wind out in the desert tomorrow, but an upper level low rotating off the coast is going to throw a wrench in wind quality and predictability. At this point, it looks like the evil lurking low will stay off the coast Wednesday, keeping Gorge winds gusty and light.
This is a good opportunity for you to pull your road bike out of winter storage, if you haven’t already. High temperatures in the upper fifties to low sixties the next few days will let you pedal hard without succumbing to sunstroke, heatstroke or sweat in the eyeballs.
If we’re lucky, we’ll get some sprinkles to tackify the mountain bike trails. I think we’ll get just enough transparent precipitation for tacky perfection at Post.
I can’t wait! Have an awesome day today, whatever you do!
