Yesterday I tried to log into my website early in the morning to update it. Thanks to my host's incompetence (that would be GoDaddy... any suggestions for a new host, anyone?), the server was down. Again. So, no forecast yesterday.
I'll try to make up for that today.
There's nothing going on in the Mt. Hood powder department right now. I haven't been up in a couple of days, and have mixed reports of conditions. The resorts did receive a little rain, but it sounds like the off-piste stuff is a combination of buttery smooth snow and rain crust. I haven't heard reports of awful skiing, so it might be worth hitting the hill just for some exercise. If nothing else, it shouldn't be crowded. =)
It looks like Mt. Hood will get about a third of an inch of precip today and about the same tomorrow. That should give us 2-5 inches of new overnight and the same tomorrow. That's not bad... not epic, but not bad for March.
In just the last week or so, several people have invited me climbing. I'm not sure if it's spring in the air, but it's nice to see. Maybe I'll see you guys on the rocks as well?
Tomorrow brings another chance of west wind windsurfing and kiting. Once again, these winter/early spring wind events are hard to call. However, this one is driven by an upper level low passing overhead and moving off to the east. I think we'll see a couple of hours of strong westerlies at Arlington tomorrow, midday. Given the fact that I'll be driving to Joseph tomorrow, this is going to be problematic. I may have to throw a 3.7 and 3.2 in the car and sail for 45 minutes on the way. I think my driving partner may kill me if I do this. I think I may kill myself if I have to drive past strong winds.
Have a great day everyone! I'll try to do a forecast tomorrow. If not, have a great week. I'll be on vacation through Friday.
