Evening of 2/5

We're about to get new snow on the mountain. It's time. Spring skiing on Mt. Hood in the middle of winter has been fun, but I'm ready for powder and I'm sure you are too.

Looks like 3-5 inches overnight tonight and an additional 3-7 inches of snow tomorrow. It's not enough to break out the powder skis, but it's going to be enough to cover up the ice (I hope). For what it's worth, models are saying .25 water equivalent today and up to .50 water equivalent tomorrow. That suggests, given the moderate temperatures, a total of 7-10 inches for the storm system. I'm going skiing tomorrow afternoon. You might want to go too.

Saturday is looking sunny at Meadows. That could be a lot of fun. A nice packed powder day could be fun too. Snow returns on Sunday and Monday. I don't have the 10-day precip model on this computer, but I'll post tomorrow morning with more detailed long range forecasts (not that they are accurate anyway).

Have a great day on the mountain tomorrow!
