There isn't much I can say about the next few days. Sunny. Relatively warm.

I beg of you: pray for snow.

And after you do that, pray for the health of the Columbia River, and start thinking of ways we can all get involved in cleaning up our playground. The EPA has reported that the Columbia is dangerously polluted. That's for humans as well as for animals. Read the article below, and leave a comment here with your thoughts.

And after reading that, have a good day today.

Pretty disturbing stuff. I live at the far north Oregon coast and we have recently been warned by signs and media articles to stay out of the ocean for 2 days after it rains. This is due to the toxic and coliform filled runoff from the rivers. I ALWAYS wear a nose plug when in river or ocean water, after having had a sinus infection that lasted 3 years, and required 2 surgeries.

First, thanks for the heads up Temira.

It sure would be helpful if they made this information more detailed. I'd like to know specifically what areas of the Columbia River the contamination poses an "unacceptable risk".... and more detail on what this "unacceptable risk" is all about. What are the risks of long term exposure? Are there symptoms of overexposure to these risks? Also, in terms of cleanup.... what can we do to help solve this problem?

btw... got a new harness line for you to replace the new one you gave me last summer, perhaps meet at Stevenson this week?
