Everyone has a preferred method of bringing their chosen weather into being. When I was a kid, my sister always wanted snow days. So, when there was a possibility of snow in the forecast, she'd burn underwear. We're not talking little white cotton panties. We're talking spectacular sacrifice. It took a nice pair of panties thrown into the fire to make snow appear.
It's with this story that I'm asking you to make your chosen sacrifice for snow. Skiing and snowboarding is just more fun when there's lots of powder!
The extended forecast for the next week or so just isn't looking good. A little snow tonight, and then nothing until Thursday. I'm all for spring skiing and sunshine, but we need several feet of powder on Mt. Hood. It's the middle of winter, and we shouldn't be slathering on sunscreen and breaking out the warm-weather wax.
You will sacrifice something in the name of snow today. I'm giving up coffee for the day to make it snow.
On second thought, there's no way in hell I'm giving up coffee to make it snow.
If you're looking for windsurfing or kiteboarding, you can look to the east tomorrow. A weak front passes during the day, sending desert winds into the mid-twenties, at the very least. Models actually show 30+, but the MM5 doesn't agree with reality much of the time in the winter. Suffice it to say that you will be able to get on the water if you have the desire tomorrow. Daily double, anyone?
