Saturday 1/17 Forecast

Most of you probably know this already, but I've had a couple people thank me for the heads up, so I'll give it to you once more.

The forecast for Meadows today is 58 degrees and SUNNY. That's right. Sunshine. Warmth. June-uary in a good way.

If you can't stand the Gorge gloom and the drainage ditch cold one minute longer, head to the mountain. Even if you're only going up to hang out, go up. I'd recommend getting to the mountain early, because they will most likely close the main lot at some point due to over crowding.

If you're insane (like me, right?, except I'm going to do a little work and head somewhere sunny), you can go windsurfing or kiting today and tomorrow. Massive, over-the-top gradients - it's .28 right now - are giving us 24 in Stevenson and 30 on the sensor (meaning 50+ on the water) at Rooster. Readings are all over the place at Stevenson, suggesting that it's still under the clouds. Head further west for steadier conditions. Please do not kite or windsurf without a partner at this time. It's dangerous when the water is 40 degrees. Also, the air is 30 degrees down here in the ditch. Wouldn't you prefer snow kiting up on some hill somewhere?

Once again, my advice for the day is to head uphill and enjoy the sun. Consider it a really cheap mini-vacation.

Have a great day!
