1/7 Temira's Birthday is 1/8 Forecast

First, tomorrow (Thursday, the 8th) is my birthday! Yippee! Please join me at Cebu during happy hour starting at 5pm for the most delicious burgers on the planet and various other yummy things. Happy hour's over at 6, so if you want cheap food, come early. This is a totally casual get together, especially since I'm doing snowphone Friday and must be in bed by 9 or so! No presents. Cards are most welcome!

But more importantly, the crazy weather. Meadows closed Wednesday, due to ridiculous wind and heavy rain. Gusts Tuesday night at Timberline were in the 130 mph range. Even Eddie wouldn't go in that! It sounds like bad weather, but Washington is taking the brunt of the storm. The jet stream shifted just far enough north to dump the heaviest rains on the Washington Cascades. Lucky.

Looks like snow will start falling again tomorrow (sometime) at Meadows. I'll be there. It's my birthday, damn it, and I'm going skiing!

Friday through pretty much next Friday looks dry and unseasonably warm, with the freezing level near 10000 feet. We might see spring skiing conditions with daytime temperatures on the slopes over freezing every day. It will be sunny on the mountain. Cross your fingers that we don't see the evil inversion/nothing/thing that lives in the gorge all next week.

See you guys tomorrow, at the mountain and afterward!
