8:30 update to the forecast below: It is now snowing hard at Mt. Hood Meadows and NOAA is predicting a foot or so of new snow today. The lifts are coated in ice this morning, so it's going to take a while to get everything running. i'm thinking that the afternoon session is going to be pretty darn good. See you up there?
Good morning all!
I'm trying to put a positive spin on this report to retain my image as the perky and happy reporter.
Well... it's my birthday on Thursday, and that's going to be fun. You are all invited to celebrate with me. I don't know when or where I'll be celebrating. Hopefully it will be up at the mountain during the day with 2 feet of new light fluffy yummy delicious powder.
(good transition opportunity there)
It's raining at Mt. Hood Meadows again. I had hoped we'd dodge the bullet today, but we just can't seem to get a break. Unfortunately, snow levels are predicted to rise over the next couple of days, only returning to pass levels on... my birthday.
The lifts are once again covered in ice, and it's blowing hard on the hill. Your friendly lift crew will be spending the day deicing lifts, and deicing them again. If you go to the mountain, please take some sort of baked goods or beer for the poor lifties standing in the rain trying to pound ice off the chairs.
I'm going to go sit in a corner and sulk for the next 10 minutes. I really, really wanted to ski powder, or at least ski in falling snow, today. When I'm done sulking, I'm going to find something fun to do! You should too!
I'm about ready to take up winter windsurfing again.
Anyone want to go shopping? <g>
Have a great day!
