Saturday 11/29 Forecast

Hello everyone,

A front shifting eastward will turn Gorge winds westerly overnight. Best winds will be very early in the morning, but westerlies of some sort hold for much of the day Saturday as high pressure builds in from the coast. We'll see mid twenties out east tomorrow morning, filling back towards Hood River as the day goes on. Chances are that afternoon winds will be in the 21-24 range from Mosier eastwards, and winds should be kiteable at the Hood River sandbar.

If you'd like to stay out of the river, consider giving a hand at Post Canyon tomorrow for a mountain bike work party. Meet at the end of the paved road at 9:45 or at the original Seven Streams trailhead at 10:00, Bring tools and snacks, as well as plenty of warm clothes. Speaking of mountain biking, if you're on Facebook, please join the group "You will mountain bike the Gorge" for updated trail info from... well... you and everyone else. The more people who join and contribute, the better trail information we'll have.

Spectator sport action this weekend includes the Nelscott Reef tow-in contest. A long-period swell train with a 15 foot+ swell rocks the coast on Sunday. With light east winds, this will be epic surf contest (or just surfing... Mr. Meyer?) conditions!

Have a great weekend!

Temira
