Monday biking forecast

Hi everyone!

(yet another radio cut and paste)

Guess what happened yesterday? It snowed at Meadows! That’s right… snow! Both the cams showed a dusting of white. This brings us to the 4x4… it’s time to find three friends and get your ski pass. I think it would be cool if they offered an 8 by 8… or a 32 by 32, or hey, how about a 700 billion by 700 billion pass?

Maybe it’s easier to find one friend and go mountain biking. I tested Post Canyon and Nestor Peak this weekend. Postie is puddly and muddly. Nestor’s downhill is in good shape. Surveyor’s is reported as excellent, and apparently there are a few downed trees on Dog River. Today is looking dry, though, so make this your day to ride if you can, as tomorrow brings falling rain (as if rain could rise) and a 6000 foot snow level.

Tomorrow also brings a round of strong winds to the Gorge. Before I say that… today may bring 17-20 in the late afternoon for you non-wind-snobs. A powerful front tonight leaves powerful west winds in its wake. I’m  imagining 30ish tomorrow east of the cloudline. With high pressure at the coast, wind direction tomorrow will be conducive to sailing downwind of the very-much-closed Maryhill Bridge.

Paddlers: The White Salmon’s at 1.79 feet. The Wind River’s at 212 cfs and the Little White’s at 271 cfs.

Have an awesome day!

(I haven't had my coffee yet, just so you know)
