Hello Sailors!
Yes, today is the day! Here in the Gorge, we're sitting under a strong marine deck. In the desert, the ex-mayor of Arlington is basking in the sun in her teeny-tiny workout outfit (for the record, I think she shouldn't have been recalled). I'm hoping to join her this afternoon.
Gradients are already strong enough for upper twenties dawn patrol at Doug's. As the desert warms, all beaches east of Hood River will hit 30+. I say that even though saying "all" is a bad idea. Today is a sure bet (now watch the wind die).
Upper level flow is due west, setting up a perfect day for The Wall and Rufus. Arlington will be beautiful as well. The marine deck is predicted to pull back, and if this really happens (unlikely), even the Hatchery could see strong wind. I'd suggest Doug's or somewhere east of there.
Kiters, my only suggestion is Stevenson, under the clouds, unless you like kiting in liquid smoke.
West winds continue tomorrow, albeit with less strength. We'll see 22-26 from the cloudline - probably setting up at Mosier - eastward.
Friday looks like a wakeboarding day, as high pressure builds and temperatures climb into the 70's.
Have an awesome day!
